World War II

The Korean War was fought between the republic of Korea. One of the reasons the war started was because North Korea and South Korea had many different views on politics and army. North Korea wanted to switch South Korea to communism and have the army as the main focus. The war began in 1950 and it officially ended in 1953. The United Nations and the People’s Republic of China supported the War. The War started when North Korean army (Communist) crossed over into South Korea’s territory. This war was not fair at all; North Korea was much more equipped, skilled, and had many more people fighting. North Korea destroyed the capital in no time. Right after the united nations found out about the invasion they knew they needed to help. 16 nations sent in troops to help rebuild South Korea and move the North Koreans’ army out. 850,000 army men were killed in this war.  North Korea is still a serious threat to South Korea and Japan because of how much focus is on military and their nuclear weapons.
